The Sabi Sands Game Reserve, 65 000 hectare big, is known for having of the best Big Five game viewing that South Africa has to offer. It is located on the southwestern corner of the Kruger National Park, but as there are no fences in the Greater Kruger National Park, animals roam freely just as nature was intended. Both the Sand and Sabi River is brining water into this reserve and therefore making sure that animals are in abundance. There are two main seasons in the Sabi Sands, which is summer and winter.
Summer Season is from September to March and winter from April to August. Winter time you are guaranteed that animals will concentrate around all the waterholes and as grass is low, your game viewing is a little easier, but what makes the summer time special is all the little babies, as you will see hundreds of impala babies running around which bring its own uniqueness and epic safari opportunities.
